Philmont was such a special experience. We learned a lot, had so much fun and felt the spirit. It was wonderful to be with our family and not have to feel like we were tring to pack in a ton of activities & sight seeing. Everyone made really good friends who they still keep in touch with.
One of the favorite memories was catch& release chicken chasing at the fort!
throwing tomahawks...Cort would just sing and the chickens would come- just like snow white! well... maybe a faint resemblance! (just kidding gretel put them on him)
for the primary parade everyone made a costume out of paper with the help of parents. Trey made his crocodile one all by himself though! Daph was rapunzel and pace wanted to be moses because of a stick he had found and called his "moses stick"
western night was a blast! we learned line and square dancing and gretel was a very sought-after dance partner for Cort's friends- which bothered Cort a little!
Ty& I got up at 4 am one morning and took the hike to lovers leap!
daphne met a darling little friend named Lia whom she did everything with and just loved!
We had a momentous occasion while at Philmont as well... the arrival of our first teenager! The signs on the tent say caution- a teenager lives here and BEWARE of teenager. We couldn't cook or have fires, so we made due with twinkies and some illegal candles!
